With lockdown keeping us all on home soil, summer on its way and all of us thinking of when we’ll be able to plan our next holiday, we thought we would share Guy’s top tips of where to travel in 2021.
Now is the time to think short breaks! Whether you are looking for a quick 48 hour getaway or something slightly longer, here are 5 inspirational ideas for a quick getaway for that special person in your life.
Europe – Reykjavik
Maybe not everyone’s first idea for a short break, but its not that far to get to. Fly from Heathrow, Gatwick or Luton, and go straight to Iceland’s capital (as a destination in its own right, or as a stopover on the way to USA. Reykjavik has great history, a thumping night life, and some great sites. Take a visit to the Blue Lagoon, go Geyser hunting, or visit eyjafjallajokull (the volcano responsible to air chaos a few years ago.
Europe – Paris
From captivating culture to fantastic foodie delights, a city break offers something for those looking for a romantic getaway, to learn all about a destination’s fascinating history or to get involved in a city’s lively nightlife. Paris never fails to live up to its expectations. Whether you’re darting between major attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, or you’re watching the world go by at an atmospheric café away from the tourist throngs, there are dozens of ways to fall in love with Paris.
Europe – Madrid

From there,….time dependent, you can hire a car and explore the hundreds of beaches and coves around the island…..a visit to the hilltop town on Deia is a must!

Perched on the sun-drenched Gulf coastline, Dubai has so much to offer and guaranteed glorious weather to match. Imagine world-class dining, incredible architecture, a myriad of shopping experiences, lavish spas and spectacularly chic hotels and resorts, all in one city. There are theme parks for families or romantic meals in tranquil desert locations for couples – what’s not to love?
